Don Jr. Stumps for Crawford

Donald Trump, Jr., the son of the convicted felon, may have delivered all the votes Susan Crawford needs to win in April.

Little Don, a member of the Trump Crime Family, appeared at an event in Waukesha yesterday to deliver his strong backing, joining Elon Musk, to Brad Schimel, Crawford’s Republican opponent in the Supreme Court race.

Democrats are already supercharged to turn out for Crawford, not only to keep the liberals’ slim majority in place, but as a loud rebuke to Trump. Stuff like this from the Small Don only super charges the supercharge. Circuits are busting all over Wisconsin.

The Republicans are trotting out the Diminutive Don and his ilk because they know the only way they can win is to get all the guys sitting in their parents’ basements playing video games to get off the couch and go vote. That’s just not going to happen. Trump voters have shown time and again that they show up to vote only for Trump. When he’s not on the ballot they don’t even know there’s an election.

Little Don appeared in Waukesha to help Schimel. He did the opposite.

But what will get less attention than Don Junior’s press hit is actually a lot more disturbing. Schimel is all in on Trump. I expected that he would have stayed away from an event that was this blatantly partisan. But no, he showed up at Tiny Don’s event. And not only that, on a day when Trump openly defied and attacked the judiciary, Schimel said that he thought his job was to deliver rulings that supported the convicted felon’s policies. “Do you think the job is done?” Schimel told the crowd. “We have to stay vigilant and we have to stay on this.”

Nothing could be clearer. A candidate for Wisconsin Supreme Court just said that he will help Trump “finish the job.” In other words. he’ll rule for Trump any chance he gets. Republicans beat up on Janet Protasiewicz for being too explicit on the abortion issue among others (and I agreed, she did go too far), but what she said is nowhere near as explicit as this. And Protasiewicz was just supporting what had been a constitutional right. Schimel is endorsing Trump’s defiance of judges and the constitutional crisis he is provoking. Like the Republican wimps in Congress, he won’t defend his own branch of government. He’d hand over all power to a dictator.

Let’s be honest. Schimel disqualified himself with that statement. He’s the last person who we should entrust with protecting our democracy.

And related to the spring elections… I hope you’ll join me in supporting Bret Wagner for Madison School Board. MMSD needs him. Test scores are terrible, truancy is high, the achievement gap is growing and fiscal management is loose. And this School Board’s focus? They want to redesign the logos. Wagner wants to focus on getting kids to read at grade level. He’s level headed. So, if you live in the Madison district, please vote for him and, if you can, send him a few bucks. or take a yard sing. Also, he’s having a meet and great event tomorrow night from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Vintage Brewing on Madison’s West Side. Stop by if you can. Details below.

  1. Someone’s getting nervous.

Look on the bright side if Schimel wins we’ll effectively have the Hagedorn court. Not a bad thing at all.

No on Wagner. The only way out is through. Voting for the most woke candidate I can find. MMSD needs to get worse before it gets better. A token normal person is not going to change anything.

  2. Dave,

I couldn’t agree with you more on this and the Dems have super charged this election. As they should. But everything that I’v been reading is that this contest is tied…if you believe the polls. I don’t put much trust in them (See Harris vs Trump)but it’s saying right now it’s Schimel 47% Crawford 47%. With a low turn out and it being the April election I’m thinking that Crawford as a little edge in the race.

I’m also planning on voting for Wagner but I’m not sure I need a yard sing (your typo). 🙂

    1. Singing in the yard would be very helpful. Well, depends on your voice, I guess.

I know the polls say it’s tied, but I’m counting on Crawford’s turnout being significantly better.

  3. Actually Wagner’s opponent looks pretty good. Either one is going to go it alone. Warning extreme frustration ahead.
