No commentary today. Just two extended quotes from candidates who lost elections.
The first statement was made yesterday by Kamala Harris.
Now, I know folks are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now. I get it, but we must accept the results of this election. Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I also told him that we will help him and his team with their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.

A fundamental principle of American democracy is that when we lose an election, we accept the results. That principle, as much as any other, distinguishes democracy from monarchy or tyranny. And anyone who seeks the public trust must honor it. At the same time, in our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States, and loyalty to our conscience and to our God.
The second statement was made by Donald Trump on the night he lost the election in 2020.
And I want to thank the American people for their tremendous support, millions and millions of people voted for us tonight. And a very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people and we won’t stand for it. We will not stand for it. This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election. We did win this election. This is a major fraud in our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. So we’ll be going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at four o’clock in the morning and add them to the list. Okay? It’s a very sad moment. And as far as I’m concerned, we already have won it.
Dumb question. They both do.
One points out problems that exist in our system and loves to hear himself talk.
The other is hooked on hopium and requires an enormous amount of support to get through a day.
It’s like neighbors, you can’t pick ’em, but you can learn to live with them.

Bollocks. One (the candidate from the self-described “Party of personal responsibility”) had so little care for this country that, rather than admit he lost like an adult, or even a mature teenager, tried to overturn the desires of the electorate to maintain his power.
The other, when losing by a virtually identical margin, conceded gracefully the very next day.
