This week’s quote comes to us from defrocked Congressman George Santos who said,
“Look, they can boot me out of Congress but they can’t take away my good humor or my larger-than-life personality nor my good faith and the absolute pride I have for everything I’ve done.”

- Among things that he’s done in which Santos has absolute pride are:
A) Ripping off donors to a charity for service dogs suffering from cancer.
B) Using his campaign fund for personal services like his Botox treatments and lavish vacations.
C) Lying about his mother being a victim of 911 and his grandmother being a Holocaust survivor.
D) Saying that he never said he was Jewish, just “Jew-ish.”
2. Not missing a beat, only days after losing his Congressional gig, Santos found a way to make a buck by:
A) Suiting up to play quarterback for the Jets. (I means could he be any worse than the other three guys they’ve tried since Aaron Rodgers went down?)
B) Joining Flo on several new Progressive Insurance commercials.
C) Doing cameo videos for $200 a pop. (“Hi, I’m George Santos! And I’m telling the absolute truth about how fabulous you look on your 50th birthday! Would I lie?”)
D) Selling his trademark sweaters on eBay.
3. Immediately after being expelled, Santos said:
A) “I want to apologize to my fellow Members of Congress, to my constituents and to the American people for betraying their trust.”
B) “I seen my opportunities and I took ’em.”
C) “Can I get a recount?”
D) “To hell with this place.”
4. Santos now becomes a member of an exclusive and infamous club. Now including Santos, since 1789, how many members have been expelled from Congress?
A) Six.
B) Ten.
C) Fifteen.
D) Several dozen less than should have been.
5. A special election to replace Santos will be held in February. Which of the following is NOT true about his Long Island and Queens district?
A) It was carried by Joe Biden in 2020.
B) It was represented by a Democrat before Santos.
C) It has been trending Democratic in recent years.
D) It’s among five House seats Democrats see as crucial to taking back the majority next year.
6. His expulsion from Congress doesn’t end Santos’ legal troubles. He faces 23 criminal indictments. Which charges are NOT among them?
A) Lying to Congress.
B) Defrauding unemployment insurance.
C) Defrauding his campaign contributors.
D) Participating in the January 6th conspiracy.

That’s it for this week, folks. Are you like me? Are you worried about a Packer let down against the lowly Giants Monday night? Try not to think about. Have a nice weekend.
School board needs challengers. Incumbent Madison School Board members Savion Castro and Maia Pearson have announced that they’re running for reelection in April. I have deep concerns about the direction of this Board. So, I hope candidates will step forward to challenge them with a fresh and practical vision. You need only 100 signatures to get on the ballot and nomination papers can be circulated now through January 3rd.
Unfortunately Santos is small potatoes, as Menendez will be as well. Now Congress can say look we police ourselves! And the real criminals like Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell proceed with business as usual.
There’s a reason we’ll never see the Epstein list … most of Congress is on it.
