The Quote & Quiz for 11/3/23

Sometimes it falls upon a leader to say the obvious thing, to express what everyone else is feeling. So it was with Packer coach Matt LaFleur on Monday after his team’s limp performance against the Vikings. LaFleur said:

A) Gosh, ya think, Matt?

B) Amen, brother.

C) Unprintable.

D) Was it hard to watch? I was raking leaves.

2. After last Sunday’s performance LaFleur promised to change things up this week. Yesterday he revealed that:

A) Jordon Love would be benched.

B) He was retooling the offense entirely.

C) Defensive coordinator Joe Barry was fired.

D) Practice in pads was moved up to Wednesday from Thursday.

3. The Pack’s defensive backfield has been decimated by injuries. The team’s response was to:

C) Trade their best defensive back, best player on defense, veteran presence and inspiration to other players to a Super Bowl contender.

D) Announce their new “All on the line” defense in which nobody plays behind the defensive linemen. “We’re really going to stuff the run now!” Barry was quoted as saying.

4. In the last six games the Pack has been outscored in the first half by a total of:

A) 86 – 12.

A) Far above the league average.

B) About right at the average.

C) Far below the league average.

D) Only slightly above the average.

6. The Packers take on the Rams at Lambeau Sunday at noon. I plan to:

A) Dutifully tune in to see if moving up padded practices by a day unleashes an explosive Packer offense on the first drive.

B) Give up on the first half altogether and tune in for the second half kickoff.

C) Watch a rerun of the Badger volleyball game against Illinois from Saturday. (Don’t tell me what happened!)

D) Rake leaves — and I hate raking leaves.

Answers:

  1. All answers are correct.
  2. D.
  3. C.
  4. A.
  5. B.
  6. None of the above. If it’s not raining I’m going to go bow hunting. If it is raining I may go with C.

Well, that’s all she wrote for this week. Have a good weekend (remember, it’s a rebuilding year) and we’ll see you back here come Monday.
