Odd Angles

Today we’re going to inaugurate a new Sunday feature here at YSDA. We’ll call it Odd Angles. As I take my frequent walks around Madison, it’s not the usual stuff — the Capitol or Bascom Hill — that I find most interesting. It’s stuff, usually in close up, that most people wouldn’t stop to appreciate — most people having actual places to get to and things to do.

So, every Sunday we’ll present a snapshot taken in Madison from one of those odd angles and, just for the fun of it, see if you can place it.

Today’s photo was taken on Friday, as I walked around catching performers here and there on the international day of music, which is also the first day of summer. It’s going to be an easy spot to identify given the signage. There was a jazz quartet performing underneath it, which you can just barely make out. They were terrific, by the way.
